Dinosaur hunting

Cool Pic

Where are those dinosaurs?

Look a Myasaurous. Ahhh!

Have you ever noticed how much kids love dinosaurs? It is a toddler/preschooler obsession.
We went dino hunting at the Botanical Gardens this week and what do you know, we found some. Mya finally got to see a T-Rex, her all time favorite dino. In fact if you ask her she will tell you she is a T-Rex herself. It is quite a site to watch her playing the role of a T-Rex. Our cat Henry gets to be the unsuspecting victim. Poor Henry. He really is a good sport.

The other day Mya did the cutest and saddest thing at the same time. All of us were outside doing yard work. I was drinking a beer when Brian asked if he could have a drink. I told him he could as long as he didn't drink it all. Well I guess Mya overheard this random conversation. A little while later I went inside to get ready to make dinner. I wasn't in the house for more than a couple minutes when I heard Mya screaming hysterically. She came inside with tears rolling down her face. I thought for sure she skinned a knee or something. I asked her what was wrong. Huffing and puffing she replied "Daddy drank all your beer". I could've died laughing. Brian and I were both on the floor rolling. We tried everything we could to try to tell her it was ok, that we were sharing but she was having none of it. Brian's behavior was seriously disturbing to her. That's my girl. Nobody messes with Mommy's beer!!!

Family visit

This past weekend we got to spend quality time with both sides of the my family. We honored our great Uncle Jack who passed away in December of last year. His ashes will be laid close to my Grandmother and Grandfather. We will miss him. He was an incredibly special person.

We visited my father's side of the family as well. Grandma and Grandpa are doing great. They loved it when Mya bombarded them (and the whole family) with stickers. She even tattooed our waiter. He was a good sport about it.

Our trip was short. Hopefully we can make more trips to visit in the near future.

Dinner with stickers

Mya's first French Braid ensemble. Thanks Leah!

Stickers for Grandma

Stickers for Grandpa too!

The siblings. Pretty cute, aren't we?

Mother's day

For mother's day I got to order shutters for our house. I can't wait to see what they look like on the house. Geez, I must be getting old if I'm getting excited about shutters. I also got a storage bench, will send pics of both items soon because they are groovy. Thanks baby, you're the best.

Mya and I made up a clever mother's day song (same tune as the birthday song, not many changes in the words). We sang it throughout the day. Luckily for all moms, there are moments like these because for the majority of the morning she was throwing tantrums and making me re-think the benefits of motherhood.

We spent the later part of the day with family, enjoying some good food and company. Thank you!

Throughout the day we tried to get a cute shot in of the both of us. This was about as good as it got.

Our beautiful niece, Baby Charlotte.

Mya and Zoe. Best buddies. I love this picture!

Again, one last attempt at a photo.

Memorial for my Uncle

This past week has been a little sobering. My family said goodbye to our Uncle Sandy. My siblings and I flew to Tucson to be with our relatives to celebrate and honor his life. Uncle Sandy was a guy everyone loved. He's the kind of guy who impacted everyone he met. He had a heart of gold. I am so thankful to have been loved by him and I feel like I am a better person because of it. I will really miss him.

Lesson of the day: Tell your loved ones you love them and live life the way you want to be remembered.
