Our new name for our darling little baby Kate..."Bruiser". She's discovered how much fun it is to stand on pretty much anything she can grab onto. One downfall is that she is having trouble standing without bumping her little head against something hard like the crib or the window, for example. It seems like just in the past couple of weeks are little baby has grown up. Standing, crawling a little, and clapping and waving. Time flies.

Playdate disaster
Yesterday my two best buds came over with their kiddos for a playdate with Mya. Three 4 year olds, a 2 year old, a 1 year old created this in the playroom...

Belated visit with the bro!
Yummy Apples!
Proud girl with a bag full of apples for eating!
Pumpkin Launcher!
I've finally gotten around to posting pics of our very short visit with Uncle Jon.
We went apple picking at Eckarts. It was kiddie heaven. Not only did they have overpriced apples, but they also had pumpkin launching and a small amusement park for little ones. Who needs anything else?

Halloween night!
The Hoff Colony!
Some older friend's of Mya
Many of you already know that this is officially my fav holiday of the year so I coaxed Brian into dressing up (as much as I could) to celebrate. See here's the deal...One day Mya and Kate will be totally mortified if we dressed up with them so my thoughts were to capitalize as much as possible now in the early years. Plus, who doesn't like to dress up (besides Brian)?
I did have a moment when I walked underneath a street lamp and realized I looked totally ridiculous. Th shame however was short lived because of Mya's excitement. My philosophy...A family that dresses up together, stays together.
Here are the official pictures of the bee colony.

Trunk or Treat

Baby Bee
Mya's school hosted a trunk or treat Friday night. We had a blast of a time. Here are some super cute pics. The best part...Hearing from Matthew's Mom (Mya's classmate) that all he talks about is Mya. Apparently he only wants her to come to his birthday party so we had to coordinate a date when Mya was sure to attend. As his Mother states, "He's obsessed!" Enclosed is a picture of the two buddies. Before this picture was taken another classmate wanted to get in the picture and Matthew pushed him out of the picture and kicked his pumpkin bucket. The incident was handled and all was well.
More Halloween pics to come.

Camping
Over the weekend Daddy and Mya embarked on new adventure right in our own backyard...Camping!!! Yep, camping. To our surprise Mya loved sleeping outside in the tent with Daddy. She slept until midnight then woke up and said she was cold and wanted to sleep in her own bed. Mya lasted longer than I would have. She also informed us that she saw a raccoon dressed in pajamas during her camping adventure. Apparently she saw all sorts of wildlife in our backyard having a "party."
Daddy and Mya enjoyed roasting marshmallows while drinking warm apple cider while sitting around the campfire. Mya also learned how to use a walkie talkie and had a blast talking to me from her tent. It was heaven for her. Kuddos to Brian for making Mya's first camping trip a memorable one.
Baby K is just as cute as ever and Mya is embracing being a big sister. It is lovely to see how much care and love she has for Kate.

Kate, 6 months old
It's hard to believe Kate is now 6 months old. She is becoming her own little person. She is sitting up and reaching for things she wants. She is also attempting to scoot but hasn't gotten the hang of it yet.
Kate has a couple favorite family members and it is not Mommy or Daddy. She wakes up every morning and immediately looks for Mya. If she hears her voice she will do just about everything possible to find her. Kate squeals in delight when she see's Mya. I gotta get video because it is so darn cute. Mya equally returns the hello and they talk "baby talk". Kate also seems to be in love with Henry, our kitty. She can be entertained by him for hours if Henry chooses to stick around the fam. Today Henry left his special toy right below Kate's crib as a little gift. How sweet.
Mya is enjoying school and is really excited about Halloween this year. We are all dressing up as bumble bees and Brian will be a Bee keeper. He doesn't know that yet, but he will find out as soon as I can put a costume together.

7 years! Celebrating our Anniversary
Today is our 7th wedding anniversary! I can't believe it! We celebrated over the weekend by spending a whole 24 hours away from the kiddos in downtown STL. We enjoyed a Cards game, with a 6-2 win and we came within a few feet from catching a home run. We got a free baseball bat with our names engraved, had a nice steak dinner, drank some beverages and got to stay at the Hyatt, which was lovely.
I am a very lucky woman to be married to such an amazing guy. Spending time 1:1 is much needed. I just wish we could do it more often.
Today (our actual wedding anniversary), we awoke to the most amazing weather. We took the opportunity to take the girls to Creve Couer park for a jog.
Mya out ran us. I'm totally serious. That girl has a natural born talent. It felt so nice to get out as a family again in fall like weather.
We couldn't ask for a more beautiful day!
