Summer days drifting away

Ruffle Butt!

Mya showing her little sister how to build a castle with a fence

Watching fireworks. She was in little kid heaven.

I can't believe how fast time flies. Summer is more than half-way over already.
Mya will be four in ten days and Kate is almost four months old.

We've spent most of the summer either swimming or staying indoors because of the excessive heat.

Kate is a much calmer baby these days. She could sleep a little better at night still but she seems to be getting into a routine and let me tell you, when she is awake she is one sweet and calm baby. Her favorite thing is watching Mya play. She could watch her sister all day long. Kate recently discovered her feet and she really thinks those things are the best. Kate is also trying to roll over from back to stomach. She's been rolling from stomach to back here and there since 7 weeks. She seems to like moving from side to side while holding her little feet and legs.

Mya is focused on her fourth birthday and requested a bike with a bell on it. She is growing up so fast I can't believe it. Our baby is turning 4!

Mya also started swim lessons and she absolutely loves it. She now jumps in and swims underwater. She is so proud of herself and it is a blast watching her learn these new things.

Visit with Uncle Jon

I love this pic of daddy and Mya. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Look at me!

Kate 12 weeks

We had a lovely but short visit with my brother Jon. Since it was so darn hot outside we kept it simple by walking around the mall and eating out. We spent one day in Old Town St. Charles drinking beer and walking to get Grandma's cookies.
Uncle Jon enjoyed spoiling the girls with treats and carousel rides while I just cherished the time we had together.

Baby Kate is 12 weeks old now. She is becoming more much "human like" as Brian says and she loves to explore the world around her. A couple weeks ago she discovered her hands which has been her fav play toy. Now she is starting to reach for things and has been eye balling her feet. I bet she can't wait to get those toes into her mouth.

She's had a bit of a nursing strike but slowly seems to be eating a little better. Dr. Amato placed her on GERD medicine to help with all the gas. Seriously, she is not only the gassiest baby we know, she is also the gassiest person we know! We hope this gives her some relief and helps get her back to eating a little better.

Mya is just back to being her cute self. She loves school and wants to go everyday (I'm not sure how to take this when she is home). I told her I would miss her if she went to school everyday and her response was; "I'll always be close by". Sometimes she seems so grown up. This morning she told me "You get what you get so don't throw a fit" in response to what kind of stamp I wanted on my hand. She learned that one at school for sure but I'm going to use it.
