The Top bunk

Guess who gets to sleep in the top bunk now? Yep, Mya. She is super stoked. She pushed hard to sleep on the top after discovering that her best friend at school slept on the top bunk. This was a big deal for her. Mya practiced going up and down the steps on the ladder and conquered it with ease. She even takes naps again (sometimes) on the top bunk. Its's a win win for all not to mention a juicy piece of leverage if needed.

This milestone also reminds us that she is growing up so quickly. It seems like yesterday we were holding Mya in our arms. Caring for Kate brings back memories of Mya's infancy. I remember Mya's butt dance, her first steps, her first words, the time she chased the cat around the house for what seemed like hours, Mya looking at Xmas lights outside the window for the first time, her favorite toys, etc. I'll never forget the way she discovered the world around her, the way she studied every little object with all of her senses. It is such a pleasure to experience that again with Kate.

With Kate I am more aware of how quickly the time passes, and I think she has the advantage in this situation. I am more patient and I probably baby her more (she looks like she is 6 months old, so it's tricky). She will be our last child, so it is a whole different ball game when you know this is it. I want her to slow down because before you know it they will be grown up and talking back.
